EXPANSION JOINTS

The heat generated during the aluminium smelting process and the operation of auxiliary plants causes thermal expansion in the connected piping systems. The accumulated stresses on the duct can cause deformation of the pipes, breakage of fixed points and, more dangerously, plant shutdowns. These thermal expansions must be absorbed using properly calculated metal or fabric compensators.

 HIGH TEMPERATURE INSULATION

Dosing furnace seals provide an optimum connection between two surfaces within the furnace, most commonly the feed hopper. The fill funnel is used to fill the lower tank with molten aluminium and requires a tight seal to prevent leakage of molten aluminium while keeping contaminants out of the funnel.

The dosing furnace requires many different seals. These seals help the system maintain efficiency and BundleTec offers them in many different materials and sizes. Due to the high temperatures of the furnace, these seals must be made from durable, high temperature materials. BundleTec works with customers to develop the material and a custom fit for each seal.
