Custom Design DN2000 Lens Metal Expansion Joint for Cement Industry
CUSTOMER REQUIREMENT
A cement plant requested a special expansion joint design capable of withstanding high temperature and pressure conditions. In accordance with this demand, this lens metal expansion joint was developed in DN2000 dimensions, featuring a 16 convolution design. High temperature resistance and water tightness requirements were met according to customer special requests.
SOLUTION – DN2000 16 Convolution Lens Metal Expansion Joint Design and Testing
This expansion joint was manufactured from 3 mm thick AISI 309 material, and insulation filling capable of withstanding up to 1,200°C was added inside the bellows to provide durability against harsh operating conditions. The insulation filling was surrounded and secured with 80 mesh porous AISI 310 grade stainless steel wire, guaranteeing long-term mechanical durability.
Upon customer special request, the expansion joint was subjected to water tightness testing under 10 bar pressure and successfully passed all tests. Additionally, thanks to the 16 convolution design, it increases stability in areas exposed to high temperature and pressure while allowing effective absorption of thermal movements and expansions.
With DN2000 dimensions, special 16 convolution structure, and leak-proof guarantee, this expansion joint stands out as a reliable solution even in the most challenging conditions of the cement industry. Delivery was carried out after a quality control process that fully met customer expectations.
