High Temperature Resistant DN800 Lens Metal Expansion Joint for Cement Plant
High Temperature Resistant DN800 Lens Metal Expansion Joint for Cement Plant
CUSTOMER REQUIREMENT
A cement plant required a special DN800 expansion joint for use in the cyclone outlet section, which needed both high temperature resistance and the ability to accommodate movements. In response to this demand, a lens metal expansion joint was designed and manufactured to meet customer needs. The expansion joint features a round flange on one side and a square flange on the other, facilitating compatibility with the existing system. Additionally, the reliability provided by insulation filling capable of withstanding up to 1,200°C and special AISI 310 grade stainless steel wire structure exceeded customer expectations.
SOLUTION – DN800 Lens Bellows Metal Expansion Joint Design
Based on technical specifications received from the customer and detailed examinations of the application area, a lens bellows expansion joint was designed in DN800 dimensions, manufactured from 3 mm AISI 309 material. In this design, insulation filling capable of withstanding up to 1,200°C was added inside the bellows, and this filling was surrounded and secured with 80 mesh porous AISI 310 grade stainless steel wire. The lens bellows provide both flexibility and durability, successfully absorbing thermal expansion and movement in the system.
One of the most important features of this expansion joint is that it was designed to suit the challenging operating conditions in the cyclone outlet section. Thus, a pressure-resistant, long-lasting, and reliable solution was provided for the cement plant. Both the durability and movement absorption capacity of the expansion joint fully met customer demands and guaranteed operational continuity.
